Regulatory Requirements

Under Alberta Energy Regulator’s Directive 071 (Section 10) and Saskatchewan’s Directive S-01 (Section 2.3), WCSS Oil Spill Cooperative members (duty holders) must have a representative attend the annual training exercise in the Cooperative where that member has operations. In NE British Columbia, permit holders are encouraged to participate in annual oil spill response exercises planned and executed by the Steering Committee in Co-op 9.

Exemption Criteria

The duty holder may choose to have a representative attend an exercise in another area or complete a recognized oil spill response program.  WCSS Administrators are appreciative of receiving notification ahead of time from its member companies in this regard.

Co-op Exercise Registration is a 3-step process:

Step 1: Create or confirm that you have an account at spillresponsetraining.ca.
All account holders will be able to access their WCSS training records when they sign in.

Step 2: Complete the following 2 prerequisites prior to registering for the in-person session:
